We were able to travel out to ABQ (Albuquerque) several weeks ago to check it all out. After a very long plane ride, (we now know that in Phoenix there is 3 hour time difference, whoops!) we arrive in New Mexico tired and exhilarated at the same time. I don't think either of us slept at all that night. It was funny to me that when we arrived to our new home, it was pitch black outside, we couldn't see a thing!
Well, once we woke up, excited to see all that ABQ had to offer, we felt a little let down. I mean, sure it's beautiful, but it is VERY different that the East Coast that we are used to. There are no trees, very little green, and the houses look so different. We knew this, of course, but to see it is a whole different ball game.
My first impressions were:
1. It's very flat
2. It's brown, brown, and brown
3. The city is very spread out
4. It looks like one big strip mall
So far, not so good, however, I am confident that once we are there, my impressions will change. And I am confident we will find lots of beauty in the area. And, truthfully I'm excited for this transformation!
